How to Make a Quilted Memory Pillow (No Collar Pillow)

When I am making something, I take several photos of the construction, instead of writing it down, because I am a visual learner. I need to see it!

Sometimes I get so caught up in the process of making it, I forget to take photos of each step. I want to share how I make my Quilted Memory Pillows, but it will be all in photos - no words (maybe a few) and I may have missed a few photos, but I am sure you will be able to figure out how to make the quilted memory pillow.

Today, I will share the photos of the no collar pillow and tomorrow I will share the photos of the collar pillow.

Of course, I cut the shirt into 2 pieces.

Using my regular sewing machine, I stitched the front placket closed, using a zipper foot, so I could stitch on the placket and not hit the buttons.

Then I brought the shirt pieces to the quilting machine to quilt them.

I made 2 memory pillows at the same time.

I stitched around the pocket. I wanted to leave it as an open pocket. Messages or notes could be put in the pocket.

I missed taking a photo here.  I took them off my quilting machine and trimmed them. I placed them front to front and stitched them together to make a pillow and turned it right side out through an opening I left in the bottom.

Next, I stuffed them with Poly Fiber Fill and hand stitched the bottom closed.

Quilted Memory Pillows make great gifts for loved ones.

Stayed tuned for my next post .... (tomorrow)

Enjoy your day!

Marcia
