Just a reminder I am taking "up close" and macro shots of my quilting and it looks like the thread it heavy and the stitches are large.
I use a regular long arm quilting thread - Perma Core. It was the recommended quilting thread for the Gammill regulated stitch quilting machine, when I bought my machine, back in 2003. I still use it and love it! I use a small stitch, which would be about a 2.0 or about 10 to 11 stitches per inch. The backing fabric on this quilt is the Yellow Quilter's Blenders Extra Wide Backing Fabric.
I think the swirls are perfect on bright colored and multicolored quilts as it blends and softens the quilt.
I love overall swirl quilting on pinwheel quilts.
The swirls create a really cool circular motion.
It also softens the sharp points of the pinwheels.
I stitch all free style quilting --- No computers, no panto graphs, and no pre marking. I move the quilting machine to create the designs! I choose each design for each quilt - thus making them all unique.
I never get bored and I love my job!
When you do a job that you love --- It's not like working any more!
Enjoy your day!
Marcia
