I quilted meandering with leaves and swirls on my mug rugs.
I completed 3 mug rugs. All three were stitched in short little 15 minute intervals of Minutes for Me time.
The first one was primarily greens.I stitched two of them on the first day of May and the third one the next day. I quilted them with all the small quilts as there was room for them. The second mug rug had more blue squares.
This is the post about piecing the mug rugs and I explained that I did not match up any seams --- just stitched all the little pieces together.
The third one had more longer strips - rectangles and a few more blues. You know I love blue!
I flipped them over.
I love quilting the little leaves and swirls into the meandering. I think it adds a nice twist.
Of course, I stitched my name in the right corner of each mug rug.
I am enjoying my 15 minutes of playing each day in May and sometimes I have found more minutes!
What did you do?
Did you play? sew? cook? dance?
My song for Friday is Landslide by Stevie Nicks. I chose a mellow song for today. It's the end of the week. Here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lI95V20Tixo&feature=related
It was one of my favorites from years ago, yet I think it has a whole different meaning as a 50 something woman. So many changes in our lives...
May you have a wonderful mellow weekend!
Marcia
I took 15 minutes here and there yesterday to quilt on some hot pads. I got pretty much everything on my list accomplished yesterday and to me that's a good day!
ReplyDeleteMy Me Time yesterday was a trip to a quilt shop in the town I was visiting - so much fun!
ReplyDeleteWhat pretty mug rugs and the quilting is awesome. I love Landslide! (Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac are on my all time fav's list). I went to my first piano lesson at the junior college last night. My friend and I decided we needed something new and different. It was FUN! Looking forward to the weekend for more sewing fun.
ReplyDeleteMy 5 minutes will be later this evening!! I really love the leaf design you quilted in and your beautiful choice of colors!!
ReplyDeleteMarcia, I love your mug rugs! The close-ups with the leaves look awesome! Did the Dixie chicks sing the same song? I like it a lot... thanks for the link! :)
ReplyDeleteOh, and my Me time was going to a quilt show, getting there 10 minutes after opening, not finding a parking spot, turning back and come home thinking I'll try again earlier tomorrow. Of course Bonnie Hunter was giving lecture within an hour... but She'll still be there tomorrow :)
ReplyDeleteSo do you bind the edges of your mug rugs or just leave them with the raw edges?
