Tonight after work I played with charms. In May, I had several May for Me Giveaways of the Quilter's Blenders Charm Packs. I had so much fun laying out all sorts of arrangements.
This was one of my favorite.
Do you remember I started to pick them up in order and then I just mixed them up. Then I had planned to sew them together in a scrambled order, but when I sat down to sew them I got another idea.
First I am going to sew them together in pairs. There are 14 multi colored prints and there are 14 yellows. I paired those up first.
Then I just paired up the rest of them, but I ended up with 2 Ocean Blues. I grabbed another Purple and took out one of Ocean Blues.
Next, I paired the yellow/multi charms with the others to make 4 patches.
All of the four patches will have a yellow and multicolored print.
Since I don't want them all the same, I will flip some of them around. That way they won't come out the same.
It will give it more of a scrambled look.
They need to be pressed/ironed. This is a work in progress. Tomorrow or Thursday, I am going to cut them all at an angle and put a twist on the blocks.
I can't wait! I love when I take time to play! Some days it's only for a few minutes, but I am taking time to enjoy something I love to do!
This evening, as I re sized photos and wrote this post and my container garden post, I listened to an old concert of Peter, Paul, and Mary. It was their 25th Anniversary Concert from 22 years ago in 1990. I wasn't playing, but I was listening to songs that brought back so many memories of the good old days. One of my favorite songs is Leaving on a Jet Plane. When my children were babies, (in the 80's), I would sing these songs to them at bedtime. Remember Puff the Magic Dragon? How about Weave Me the Sunshine? I am sharing the links just in case you want to take a moment to listen to them. You can sing along with them!
Take time to play - even if it is only for a few minutes!

This is part of playing along side my SIL - we play the 70's music channel while we sew. We sing, we dance, we get nostalgic, and laugh a lot.
ReplyDeleteLove the colors and the way you mixed them! Enjoy the music! Greetings

ReplyDeleteOOh look at those pretty colors. I really love the multicolored fabric and, of course, the purple. :) SO pretty.
ReplyDeleteWhat's funny is the purple and gold together takes me back to high school since that was our high school colors. LOL
Great colors and fabrics and can't wait to see what you do with the new "twist"! Thanks for sharing.
