Trying to Bake Bread in May!

I am sharing some photos of the bread, I made with frozen dough.  I usually buy Rhodes frozen bread dough, but I bought Food Club this time.  It rose more than the other ones did OR was it too warm in the house and I let it go too long?

It had only the one hole and it was pretty tasty, but I like the taste of the Rhodes better.  I need to look at the ingredients, maybe the Rhodes has more sugar.  It was sweeter.

The bottom was kind of flat, but it wasn't doughy.

Looking for baking and rising suggestions???

Yes I did have it covered with plastic wrap and I let it rise for about 8 hours at room temperature.

Anyone have a good recipe to make it from scratch that is FAST and I can just whip it up quick, if I need bread for dinner?

I don't want to spend too much time in my kitchen cooking when I can be sewing or blogging, but I really like having the fresh bread.

Thanks in advance for the suggestions.

Enjoying May --- Hope you are too!

  1. Sorry I can't help you out - terrible baker even with the pre=made doughs. BUT I love fresh made bread!

  3. I have the most amazing recipe for English Muffin Bread that makes 4 loaves at a time and they do very well in the freezer. I got my recipe here: http://www.onegoodthingbyjillee.com/2012/02/moms-english-muffin-bread.html
    Totally AMAZING!!!
