I knew right away when the Project Quilting Challenge was announced, what I wanted to do. We were to be inspired by thread. I want to thread paint on raw edge applique'.
But I didn't know what I wanted to create. Then I saw Linda's watercolour that she shared on instagram. You can find Linda at linlovespaper on Instagram.
Linda was inspired by Kelly of cookstah on Instagram.
I was inspired by both Linda and Kelly to create my little thread painted baby owl. I named it Blueberry!
Here's the backside of the quilt.
These are all the thread colors I used for my thread painted baby owl.
Here's how I made my raw edge applique' pieces for thread painting.
I used a fine point sharpie marker to draw the lines so I would know where to stitch when I started quilting --- thread painting on the raw edge applique'.

Enjoy your day!

This is so cute! I liked that you shared the process of making it too. I am working on my challenge quilt now, and am also using a large number of threads to make it.
