When Colors Fade to Black and White...

In Wisconsin, this time of year after the beautiful leaves have fallen, it feels like an old black and white photo outside.  Seeing the change of the season brings a little sadness to all. I will miss the colors...I am so lucky to have colors around me all day, when I am quilting.
I took some photos with my camera set on black and white.  I took a few with the Chrome Color setting on to brighten the few colors that were left!  

Isn't that amazing.  There were some blooms left.
But no blooms here...
There is a little green left here...






How about a fried green tomato?
Looks a little better with the Chrome Color setting on the camera.
I will set the camera on Chrome Color for the rest for the photos, so we can enjoy the last blooms of the season.

Or go back in the house and quilt!
May you enjoy your last blooms of the season...

    Fascinating play on color. I was taught to use my gray scale to photo a group of fabrics to be sure their color hues don't mute. If they are muddy in grey then they will be washed out in color.

    We used to have a black and white TV before... now, old movies in B&W is a bore to me.

    I live in Orlando now, but grew up in Minneapolis, visited Wisconsin all the time, wish I could have one of your cheese curds right now ...YUM, we don't have them in the south, I think they replaced um with grits LOL!

    This was cool. I love black and white photo of human - amazing I think it tells more of story because your eye search more. We have tons of roses still in bloom here in Rufus, Oregon - but soon they's be gone.... Awesome article..

    Great post! Good to see another Wisconsinite's presentation. I am also very impressed with quilters and believe it or not, having come from a quilting family, I've often thought that I would enjoy it some time in the future when I give up some of my other passions! I always enjoy watching the quilting shows on PBS... it really is a big thing here isn't it?! Larry
