The Green Extra Wide Fabric was won by Daryl at Patchouli Moon Studio. Daryl voted for Emerald City when she entered the giveaway. She wins one yard of Green Quilter's Blenders Extra Wide fabric. The piece of fabric is 36" (actually 38") by 108" . 38" inches because I measure generous yards of fabric in my Fabric Shop.
I chose the Green Quilter's Blenders for the borders, the binding, and the backing of the quilt for the Green Donation Quilt. It is perfect, because I didn't have to do seams in the borders and only a few in the binding, and of course no seams in the backing fabric.
Thanks to everyone for helping us choose a name for the quilt. Emerald City and Evergreen Swirls and Emerald Terraces got several votes. Many voted for Whispering Pines. I liked the name Rainbow of Greens, because the fundraising is for Rainbow Hospice. There were so many wonderful ideas.
At this point, we will name it something between Evergreen Swirls and Emerald City forming a combination name that I think wasn't mentioned - Emerald Swirls.
Again, Thanks for your input!
Friday, I shared a post about the arrival of two NEW Extra Wide Fabrics in my shop - Red and Red Purple. I will be using the Red fabric in my Red, White, and Blue Block for the Blog Hop in July at Jane's Fabric and Quilts. I shared photos of the four blue fabrics in my shop and I am asking for your input on that too. There is an extra bonus for you to win one yard of extra wide fabric. The winner chooses the color for their prize. I took this photo of the Quilter's Blenders sample squares, before I got the two new colors. At this point there were 18 colors to select. Now there are 20 with the new red and red purple. The red purple bolt is on the right side in the photo!
So hop over and congratulate Daryl on winning and hop back and help me choose a blue with a chance to win more fabric.
Tonya at Hillbilly Handiworks announced a random winner for the May for Me Bingo Game today! Check that out too!
Enjoy the first weekend in May! I am sewing bindings today on all the little mug rugs and my Tiptop Quilt. It's Minutes for Me! Yippee!

ReplyDeleteOh my gosh I'm so excited and the timing for winning this green backing fabric is perfect as I needed a green backing fabric for the quilt I making my grandson. He wanted a green quilt, which is his favorite color. Thanks Marcia!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Daryl, what a great prize. I am so glad that you have found a name for the quilt, Emerald Swirls was the name I liked for the quilt. It is such a beautiful quilt and it deserved a name that made people think good thoughts.
