I Completed my GREEN and White Quilt Top!

So pleased with my Green and White Quilt!  My daughter and her husband will love it!

I used some vintage flower sack fabric with some reproduction fabrics.

I selected a few tiny prints from the 70's.

For a little added interest I accidentally threw in a tiny purple flower print. It was the evening when I was pulling fabrics for the quilt. I just was grabbing and washing and pressing.  Sweet --- I ended up with a little purple in the quilt too!

I topped it off with checks and prints from 2013.

A perfect mixture of greens with a few touches of blue (and purple) prints to make me happy!

As I completed the blocks I laid them out on a bed sheet on the floor to get a nice balance of lights and darks and colors.

Then I stitched the rows together.

I love the mixture of colors and prints.

It's a perfect blend with the greens!

I laid the finished quilt top on my guest bed. It is a queen size bed.  I really wanted it larger, so I am going to make two more rows for the width and one more for the length.
I have plenty of time, as I am not quilting it til after the holidays.

Enjoy your day!
Marcia

  7. I really like your Green and White quilt top! Green is probably my favorite color and I've got lots of greens. I think this would be a great way to use up a lot of my leftover green strips! Thanks for sharing!

  8. Ever since watching the "square in a square" quilt tutorial online I've loved this pattern. I've made two baby quilts already in this pattern and am now working on three other larger ones for my daughter and two grandsons. It's amazing at how it changes with the choice of fabrics and how much larger I can make it by adding sashing too. Your's has given me even more inspiration.
