Getting Up Close with My Quilting - Double Bubble Quilting

The Double Bubble Quilting gives each quilt a whimsical feeling that flows through the whole quilt... They are quilted with two thread colors to create the shadow effect on the bubbles.  Most of the bubbles are about the size of a fifty cent piece.  Some are smaller and some are a little larger.

First, I quilt with one thread color and then go back and quilt again with another color.  Thus, quilting the quilt twice!  The Double Bubble Quilting works best with two thread colors with a little contrast against the fabric colors, but it can be done with one color.

I really like the effect you have created with the double bubbles. It's not complicated but it gives a wonderful result. Using the different thread colours certainly makes it stunning. Thank you for a great idea.
