Hodgepodge Patchwork Tuesday - I Started the Home Sweet Home Quilt A Long

Kim at Where Creativity Blossoms - Kim's Crafty Apple is hosting a Home Sweet Home Quilt A Long.  I started late.  I am going to share my blocks that I have completed so far, but not the instructions, as it's all on Kim's Blog and I will share the links to each block when I share the photo.
I started my blocks at the quilting retreat last week.  I  printed all the instructions and three hole punched the sheets and put them in a binder to take with me. It worked out pretty good.  You can make each block just by reading the directions on her blog.  You don't need to print it all.  That's just the way I did it.
I took all my favorite blues and few blue multi florals and a few greens. I made block one and then I took it apart later in the weekend and changed the busy blue fabric to a green dyed fabric.  (Link to Kim's Block ONE

I like the green much better, than the busy blue fabric.
Next I did Diane's Block (Block Two) - Lapacek's Orchard.

I did this part a little different as I have to admit I read the directions wrong and just started cutting.  So I put it together a bit different!

I love all the blues... I made up a rule for choosing the blues.  It's scrappy, so they don't have to match, but I have to like them!  I don't like too many rules.  This is one I can follow!

Here is a full view of the block.  Cool Block! I love the flower garden of little squares at the bottom of the apple orchard.
Then I did the Tilted House Block - (Block Four). I used the busy blue fabric, but I like it on this block.
I really enjoyed the raw edge applique on the Tree of Life Block (Block 6).  I took a few photos as I put it together.

When I was getting tired at the quilting retreat in the evening, I decided it was time to work on some of the Drunken Flying Geese for the sashing.  I had a lot of fun with these.

I even made a couple four patches.
I'll share more as I complete more of my BLUE Home Sweet Home Blocks. I sure do love all the BLUES...
Remember, I am behind and it is going to take me awhile to catch up!
Enjoy your day!
Marcia

this is a beautiful quilt coming together.....are you following a pattern? I would be so frustrated without an exact pattern; when the blocks don't line up....lol. Old school; I guess...i need to try something like this. Great job!!

Beautiful work! I made two quilts one for each child when they were born but after my daughter was born I found out I had rheumatoid arthritis and it bothered my hands too much.

Rocking the blues Marcia. This is another stunner of a quilt. I especially love those gorgeous little house blocks.

At first, thought too much blue, not enough contrast, but then as I followed along on your creations it morphed into Wow, what one can do with mostly one color. I like it!

I've been following the QAL over at Kim's, but haven't started the blocks yet. I love how it looks in blue. The Tree of Life and the Orchard block are my favorites.
Thank you for the Bingo charms. I can't wait to start putting my board together.

It looks like you got a lot done at your retreat. Even though you started late, I'm sure you'll be caught up in no time. Pretty blues and I like the splash of yellow. Peggy
