May for Me Starts Today with a Giveaway!

Every year, I explain that May for Me is all about finding 5 minutes or 10 minutes --- just for you each day.  If you do this for the whole month of May, you will be a happier person 365 days a year. You will find time for you!

This is the 4th annual May for Me Celebration

It all started with a conversation between two friends about feeling like there is never any time for us.  That's when I realized, I could find 5 minutes for me everyday in my crazee/busy life!  I will choose to smell the roses, to create, to read, to sew, to quilt, or to just relax.  You can do it too!  Find 5 minutes for you each day!

Last year, I shut off my alarm clock and went back to sleep for a bit and naturally woke up to the birds singing. This year, in Wisconsin, it is too cold to open the windows, but if the furnace isn't running, I will be able to hear to birds singing, as they are back, but pretty cold too. After I did that last year, I now set an alarm, just so I do not sleep later than 8am, but I am usually up between 6 and 7!  I made a change that I really like.  I wake up naturally. Remember I am my own boss and I can be late for work and I can work later in the day, if I choose to start later.

Last year, I chose to add more water to my diet!  That was a great addition!  I drink more water and I feel better because of it.

I found all sorts of 5 minute things that made me happy!

You will be a happier person, if you take a few minutes for you!  Celebrate you! It's May for Me!

Here's the first Giveaway!

You can enter to win my Summer Tomatoes Quilt Pattern! It is a fun table topper quilt to make in any colors.

Here is an up close photo of my Summer Tomatoes Table Topper Quilt. I quilted it with Bubble Quilting.

Well, every morning is 5 minutes to make the first brewed coffee of the day, but I make sure I take 5 minutes to sit and enjoy my two furry side-kicks who help with so much of my quilting tasks - and great friends to walk with these days, too.

five minutes for a few yoga stretches in the middle of the work day. Wonderful when you sit at a computer all day like I do.

I enjoy sitting on my patio and patting my cat! Invariably, a neighbor or two will stop by to visit...

My son is grown and lives 900 miles away but I talk to him on the phone for at least a few minutes most days, and that makes me happy.

My favorite thing that only takes 5 min is the cuddles and kisses from my dog when I get home from work. It makes my heart sing! Hopefully this rain here in WI stops soon, I finally see my tulips trying to peek out. They (and me too!) are ready to see some sun!

That first, quiet cup of coffee in the morning gets me going and is my just for me time. Everyone who knows me also knows that I like to spend the first 20 minutes of the day ALONE and they are good enough to respect my space. Starts the day off right.

I like to go out and put food in my bird feeder in the morning and watch the birds flock to it after I walk away. It's like they are always watching for me to freshen up their food. I sit on the back porch for a few minutes with my cup of tea and watch them before I have to hurry up and rush out to join the work force. Thanks for having May for Me again this year. I enjoy this a lot.

It takes 5 minutes to make a pot of tea. Just sipping tea helps to relax me. This past month, I've been taking more time in the evenings to read.

Catching up online with my Blogging Friends makes me happy. It takes way more than 5 minutes. Maybe 5 minutes per Blog. In 5 minutes I can check the mail and read the paper. I live in a town with not much news in the paper.

It only takes me 5 minutes to make a steaming cup of tea and to sit and enjoy those first few sips but once I've started I make time to finish the cup.

I try to wake up before my husband every morning to have some time alone. I take the time to make a pot of tea and read a trashy novel on my Kindle.
