Hodgepodge Patchwork Tuesday

Today's post is about:
Needing help with a name for my quilt by Saturday,
and a Giveaway for you, today,
and about another Blog Hop Giveaway on Friday.

I need your help with a name for my Print Publication Quilt Project for the Project Quilting Challenge.  I can't show the finished quilt, because it is not done yet.

I want to name it something that has to do with reading.

Some Ideas:

Reading Between the Lines

Black and White and Blue all Over.

Quilted Words

Here is my progress on my project.

I cut the strips --- 1 inch, 1 1/4 inch and 1 1/2 inch.

Randomly stitched the strips together.

 Pressed/ironed and starched.

Ready to cut.

Remember my inspiration for this quilt is based on page 28 from a magazine.

Please leave a comment and help me name my quilt.

Leaving a comment will also enter you in a Giveaway for you, my readers.

The prize today is a set of 6 Quilter's Blenders Fat Quarters --- Primary and Secondary Colors. Open to everyone.

Giveaway ends Saturday, March 9th at Midnight.  Winner will be announced on Monday, March 11th.

Update:  Winner Announced -- click here!

Thanks for helping me name my quilt!

-----------------------------

There will be another Giveaway that starts on Friday, March 8th.  It is hosted by the Quilting Gallery.  I am giving away more prizes!

Beautiful blue and the other fabrics.

I think you should name it Quilted Medicine because of that page being some type of prescription.
Plus the fact that quilting is sometimes our medicine when we just need to relax and play with our fabrics.

Hmmmm - Back to black
or
between the lines

I dunno.... but I'm loving those fabrics together and can't wait to see the finished product!

The name that comes to me is "Lines on a page"

Can't wait to see more!

How about Comic Strip? Or Stripped Threads. These days the word thread is often used to reference a written conversation. Wish I could see your Page 28 better, LOL!

Well, I am seeing the charts - love the blue - blue charts - but thinking French blue with your colors - bleu' charet

Lines from my favourite story.

Hmm... love the colors. Maybe I will named it "Strippy Bluey"

Because of the story behind the quilt, I would call it Page Twenty-Eight.

That would be a great conversation starter. You'd be asked why you named it Page Twenty-Eight.

Gill said...

I actually prefer 'Page Twenty Eight' Janarama's suggestion!! or what about guidelines?

First thing that came to mind for me was 'Reading between the lines', as you had to be creative to base a quilt on a page of text! :)

how about Turn to page 28- when I read the challenge that is what came to my mind immediately.
what a fun challenge!

I like 'Black and White and Blue all over' ;)
Still haven't started on mine, I have a page, but am clueless as to what to do with it yet LOL

Why not call it after your favourite book quote, or just one that most people will recognise.
IE - "best of times", once upon a blue
Although having read everyone else's comments I really like Page 28.
Love the quilt too, looking forward to seeing it all finished.

How about "Making Something Out of Nothing" because your inspiration page didn't have much in the way of inspiration!

I'm not blue.
Thanks for the chance

How about "Literary Lights".

I do like the "Page 28" suggestion! My first thoughts were Secret Message and The Continuing Saga.

I really love the way that came together. I'm not great with naming things...isn't that pathetic...but I don't normally name my quilts, or sewing machines, or cars. =) Maybe 'Blue Bar'.

Thanks for a chance to win your giveaway. =)

"Line Graph"

My first thought was "Page 28" or "Turn to Page 28". As one commenter said, it is a great conversation piece with that name :) Btw, I love, love the color choices!!

Kris said...

I love the colors. How about "Fine Print" that give the viewer a chance to look closer and see what they dream is in the quilt.

Elisabetta said...

by seeing your work I imagined:

Lined Blue Words and Black Swirls

I can't wait to see the finished quilt ^_^

thank you so much for the giveaway too

I love Reading Between the Lines, because your idea comes when you are reading.

I like Reading Between the Lines too.
I can't come up with anything better. :)

How about, The Best of Lines (a bit of word play from the opening line in A Tale of Two Cities...It was the best of times, it was the worst of times). Silly, but that's what came to mind.

Amy Hill said...

I had some thoughts, but I love "Page 28" Great suggestion :) and gorgeous colour combo!

I can't think of anything clever, but I thought of "follow instructions".
