Getting Up Close with All Machine Embroidery Binding

I use the same quilting thread on my regular sewing machine to stitch the binding. It's a little heavier than regular thread, but it works great and matches.
It's a nice and neat durable binding.

It's also pretty. The embroidery stitching finishes off the quilt with a lacy effect!
Here's the back side of the quilt showing the embroidery binding.
I stitch slowly and very carefully making sure it holds the binding in place perfectly. It is important that is looks even on both sides of the quilt.

If you want to see more photos of embroidery binding - check out my photo gallery. I show photos of the process of stitching the embroidery bindings. Also there are a variety of embroidery stitches.

We are having another warm day in Wisconsin! That's amazing for February!
Have wonderful day!

I love the design on the binding. Yours are so nice and straight. I did some snowflakes on my winter placemats which came out ok, had some waves in it and my corners were a little weird after pivoting. Any tips for the corner?

What a great idea. I've always been afraid to try machine sewing the binding because of the need to get it all to catch. This looks like it is a bit more forgiving.
