I Quilted Marsha's Friendship Star Quilt

Marsha named her quilt "Twisted Friends".

Marsha explained that the colorful blocks are made using Victoria's method of playing with fabric from 15 minutes of play ... Bumble Beans Blog

I also quilted Marsha's Monkey Wrench Quilt for the May Challenge. I will share the link to the post at the end.

I started by quilting with a green thread on the green background to create a pattern that looked like the pieced blocks.

I also wiggle line quilted the pieced blocks.

I wanted the star block to stand out.  I thought about bubbles or pebbles and then I decided the wiggle line quilting would be the best. I kept going around and around to form the pattern in the square and following the triangles too. I quilted it twice to give it a more defined line of quilting.

It really makes the star stand out!

A couple photos of the backside.

And a full view of Marsha's Quilt.

Each quilted wiggle line is quilted twice!

A fun view...

I Quilted Dayna's Friendship Star Quilt

Dayna added a new block to the center of her quilt.  It really gave it a striking design and cool areas to quilt. Also gave it a raised dimension too.  I really enjoyed quilting it!

Thanks Dayna for selecting me to quilt your challenge quilt.

I did not realize I had so many yellows!  I laid them all on the quilt to select the best one.  I have several reds, but that was easy to choose.  I also found the best lavender too!

These three colors were perfect for the quilting.

I used a double batting consisting of 80/20 white and poly white Hobbs Batting.

Here's a full view of the quilt and the quilting.

I took several photos of the quilting on the back of the quilt. You can really see the wiggle line quilting and the swirls on this side against the yellow fabric.

And some up close photos of the quilting on the front of the quilt.

A full view of the front and the backside.

Dayna posted on here blog about her quilt too Click here.

I Quilted Audrey's Friendship Star Quilt

Audrey named it "Paddle Star Galactica".

Thanks Audrey for selecting me to quilt your challenge quilt.  I really enjoyed quilting it.

Here's a before photo.

Selecting the quilting thread.

I was thinking I needed 3 colors, but I ended up only using the light pink and the blue.

I quilted wiggle lines in the blue sections and tiny meandering in the background of the star blocks.  Lines through the center squares on the chevron fabric with swirls on the points of the stars.

I used double batting --- 80/20 cream and Poly white on the top.

I quilted the floral background with Two Color Ribbon Quilting and Whimsical Flowers.

Took a few photos at weird angles so you can see the dimension of the quilting.

Here's a full view.

And the backside.

I love how it turned out!
