What's for Dinner Tonight?

It's the second day of May and it's still cold in Wisconsin.  I have the heat up and I am turning the oven on!

I want time to play in May. I want to sew for more than 5 minutes at the end of my day, so I am roasting some Dilly Beef.  

It's a simple recipe and I will serve it on hamburger buns tonight with a side salad. 

I say I don't cook, but I really do cook, but it has to be easy!

You can use any kind of pickles.  Today, I used the end of 2 jars of pickles.  One was a sweet dill pickle with the dill, onion, and garlic pieces and the other one was hamburger pickles. Lots of juice and not very many pickles, but that is ok. It's the juice that we need anyway!

You can season it with your favorite seasonings. I add Mrs. Dash Garlic seasoning and a little salt and pepper.

The recipe I shared over on my food blog was a full jar of pickles!

 I made my sample quilt in 2012 and I love it! It measures 21" x 21" and is perfect for the center of my dining room table.

I didn't have any tomatoes for the photo, but I had lots of sweet peppers!

This is a fast and easy way to combine three colors to create a quick and easy quilt. It looks different every time you make it!
Table topper measures 21″ X 21″, but you can multiply it to create larger quilts.
My colorful tomatoes from my container garden inspired this quilt in 2012. 

I use mine a lot and I wash it alot. That makes it all scrunchie!

May for Me --- Day Two

I took a few minutes to take photos of the Special Project Quilting Bundle of hand dyed fabric from Cherrywood Fabrics with some of my print fabrics to help me decide what color to select for this month's Project Quilting Challenge ---- Focus through the Prism!

I took photos, but this does NOT mean I will use these prints.  I was just playing with what I have in my fabric stash. I hope not to buy any fabrics, but I was just grabbing fabrics and taking pictures to help with the brainstorming.  I know that I want to use black with the colors, but I am not sure about anything else.  I need to sleep on it!

Feel free to comment and give me your opinion.  Keep in mind that colors appear very different on computers and phones and kindles. I took the photos in daylight, but the red on my computer does not look like it does in real life.

I am going to enjoy my coffee in the morning, a little longer than normal - Minutes for Me!

Minutes for Me, May for Me, and a Giveaway!

I started the May for Me Celebration as a way to make it OK to take time for yourself!  

Yes --- It's Minutes for Me and Minutes for You!

This year for the May for Me Celebration, I plan to spend lots of minutes sewing, quilting, crafting, and spending time with family and friends --- Minutes for Me!

I started in January by taking time for me with some friends once a month at a local coffee shop --- Timerlane Coffee Shop in Boscobel, Wisconsin.  We enjoy time together learning a new craft, we have lunch and chat.

One week, we learned how to hand sew Hexies from a circle.

One month, we made greeting cards that look like a quilt.

And this month -- this Friday April 17th we are going to learn how to hand sew this cute little pouch bag.

If you live in Southwestern Wisconsin and you would like to join us at the Timberlane Coffee Shop in Boscobel, Wisconsin? Please send me an email and let me know you will be there.  Friday, April 17th from 10am to 2pm.  Each person buys their own lunch. You can bring one item for show and tell. And then we share a craft.  It is very informal. We chat, we laugh, and we enjoy time together. Come and join in on the fun!

A Charming May for Me Giveaway

 This week's May for Me Giveaway is a Charm Pack of Quilter's Blenders Fabrics - You choose the colors.

This is the "2nd May for Me Giveaway" and I will be drawing two "Charming Winners"!

Charm Packs are 42 five inch squares.

This is a Primary and Secondary Set of Colors --- It contains 42 five inch charm squares - 7 Yellow, 7 Red, 7 Blue,7 Orange, 7 Purple, and 7 Green. 

Giveaway is open to everyone!  I will ship internationally.

Two "Charming Winners" will choose their own color creation of the charm squares!  You can choose from the Quilter's Blenders colors to make a 42 square charm pack. I may be out of stock of some of the colors, but I may have them in charm squares, so you can still choose that color.
