I worked, (quilted) a lot. I did some quilting for fun and some sewing for fun.  I took time for family the last 2 weeks of May - Especially with my grandson!

To sum it up for the May for Me Celebration, I would say:  "Find time to play. Find time to be with family and friends! And find time for yourself --- stop and smell the roses!  Or if you are a quilter, your fabric!"

I think we have finally solved our internet problem!  But something surprising happened to me while I did not have internet, I was sewing more!  I am not going to reply to the entries this week either.... The Quilter's Blenders were designed to blend with other fabrics.  I used a colorful print for this quilt in the next photo.  I selected Quilter's Blenders to coordinate with the print.

I have been so busy that I am not even upset that my internet is going in and out.  We have had lots of spring storms that are also cutting into my time on the computer. I set down to write a post and my internet is out!  This seems to be Ok with me .... I just go back to sewing or quilting or writing up PDF patterns for Craftsy.  Check out the link in my sidebar to my Craftsy Store.  Makes it simple to purchase my quilt patterns as PDF. You pay for it and download it onto your computer..... no waiting for it to be mailed to you and no shipping!

Happy Mother's Day!

This is my favorite four generation photo.  Over the years, we took many of these photos, but this one was the first one and it will always be my favorite one.  My daughter was about a month old.  I was a new Mom. I was so happy and so tired and enjoying every moment of being a Mom.

I love being a mother, but I really love being a "Grandmama" the best!

I am sure we will take hundreds of photos of my grandson, but I think this will be my most favorite one! We flew 5000 miles to smell the sweet fragrance of a new born baby!  The memory will be cherished forever. . .

A Charming May for Me Giveaway

 This week's May for Me Giveaway is a Charm Pack of Quilter's Blenders Fabrics - You choose the colors.

This is the "2nd May for Me Giveaway" and I will be drawing two "Charming Winners"!

If you win, you get to choose the colors! 

Charm Packs are 42 five inch squares.

This is a Primary and Secondary Set of Colors --- It contains 42 five inch charm squares - 7 Yellow, 7 Red, 7 Blue,7 Orange, 7 Purple, and 7 Green. 

Giveaway is open to everyone!  I will ship internationally.

Two "Charming Winners" will choose their own color creation of the charm squares!  You can choose from the Quilter's Blenders colors to make a 42 square charm pack. I may be out of stock of some of the colors, but I may have them in charm squares, so you can still choose that color. 

Winners were announced on Friday, May 16th. 

You can make your own color combination of charm squares of any of the Quilter's Blenders Fabric.

Trying to Bake Bread in May!

I am sharing some photos of the bread, I made with frozen dough.  I usually buy Rhodes frozen bread dough, but I bought Food Club this time.  It rose more than the other ones did OR was it too warm in the house and I let it go too long?  

It had only the one hole and it was pretty tasty, but I like the taste of the Rhodes better.  I need to look at the ingredients, maybe the Rhodes has more sugar.  It was sweeter. 

The bottom was kind of flat, but it wasn't doughy.

Looking for baking and rising suggestions???

Yes I did have it covered with plastic wrap and I let it rise for about 8 hours at room temperature.

Anyone have a good recipe to make it from scratch that is FAST and I can just whip it up quick, if I need bread for dinner?

I don't want to spend too much time in my kitchen cooking when I can be sewing or blogging, but I really like having the fresh bread.

May for Me Starts Today with a Giveaway!

Every year, I explain that May for Me is all about finding 5 minutes or 10 minutes --- just for you each day.  If you do this for the whole month of May, you will be a happier person 365 days a year. You will find time for you!

This is the 4th annual May for Me Celebration. 

It all started with a conversation between two friends about feeling like there is never any time for us.  That's when I realized, I could find 5 minutes for me everyday in my crazee/busy life!  I will choose to smell the roses, to create, to read, to sew, to quilt, or to just relax.  You can do it too!  Find 5 minutes for you each day!

Last year, I shut off my alarm clock and went back to sleep for a bit and naturally woke up to the birds singing. This year, in Wisconsin, it is too cold to open the windows, but if the furnace isn't running, I will be able to hear to birds singing, as they are back, but pretty cold too. After I did that last year, I now set an alarm, just so I do not sleep later than 8am, but I am usually up between 6 and 7!  I made a change that I really like.  I wake up naturally. Remember I am my own boss and I can be late for work and I can work later in the day, if I choose to start later.

Last year, I chose to add more water to my diet!  That was a great addition!  I drink more water and I feel better because of it.

I found all sorts of 5 minute things that made me happy!

You will be a happier person, if you take a few minutes for you!  Celebrate you! It's May for Me!
