Wow! My Connectivity Quilt wins First Place for Project Quilting!

I am so pleased.... to be chosen as one of the top three!  Congratulations to all the participants, as we are all winners, just to be a participant in Project Quilting! 

The quilts this time were exceptionally wonderful, considering the hardware theme for the quilt project made it a bit difficult.  

Doing the challenges have really made me step outside my box and try my hand at a more detailed quilting.  I have created new quilt patterns - soon to be available for purchase. And I am designing applique' pieces without a pattern.   Thanks to Project Quilting for being my inspiration to create!

Connectivity

What does a piece of wire, a wire stripper, and electrical tape have in common with a quilt? 

A single stand of wire stands alone as one single piece, a wire stripper opens up the ends to prepare it to connect, and the electrical tape holds all the wires together.


A quilter sews alone til she finds a community of quilters who are brought together through their love of quilting.

Connectivity is the name of my quilt!

 Getting you up close with the stitches. Made all the photos X Large this time so you can see the details! I love thread painting on raw edge applique' !

 Gabby connects with my quilts too... I really think it is that she just wants to have her picture taken.  She jumps right up on the sofa when I am taking pictures!  My husband thinks I make her do it - NOPE !

Something from the Hardware Store! Do you know what it is now?

Peel off the paper on the Heat and Bond and on the fabric strips.  Then lay them out how you would like them and press with an iron. Then start stitching.  I like to use thread that is not the exact same color but a little darker or a little lighter.  Start to stitch with the thread like you are painting with brush strokes.

Choose the binding -  I think orange is best.  I will bind it on Friday morning, take more pictures, write the description for the posting and then upload my entry to the my Flicker site and Project Quilting Flicker site.
