Thursday Thoughts - Hearts to be Shared

I am thinking about Hearts today...

I finally finished my paper pieced hearts this week and I am mailing them to Tonya of Hillbilly Handiworks.  She posted a great tutorial on how to paper piece the Crazee Patch Heart. Click here for the Post --- How to Paper Piece the Heart. She includes lots of photos.

Several years ago, I designed the "Crazee Patch Heart" for a Breast Cancer fundraiser quilt. When Tonya said she was doing the paper piecing, I offered the heart. She turned it into a PDF.  This way everyone could print it and try paper piecing. You can get the "Free PDF Heart" on Tonya's Blog.  When you go there to get it, please thank her for the Heart!

Several of us learned along with Tonya, as she has been posting the "Learn-a-longs"!  See the link in the sidebar.  We all want to do so many quilting and sewing projects.  It is amazing how many new ideas are out there!  There isn't enough time in the day.  I wrote a post about that too.  I Want to Do Every Quilting and Sewing Project I See!
I chose some bright pinks for my hearts.  It was fun to make a few paper pieced hearts, but not take on a whole quilt.  Just have some fun making some hearts. Then send them off to someone with a big heart...

Tonya is gathering all the hearts and assembling them for a charity quilt.  I offered to quilt it.  So when I say I am thinking about hearts, I mean I am thinking about people with big hearts!  Tonya puts her heart and soul into every quilt she makes.  I have been following her blog since January. I enjoy reading about all the quilts she makes for others.  She really puts her heart into everything she does, not just the quilts.  I love hearing about her family all of their adventures. Yesterday, she posted about my Mom's dog, Toby and the doggie blanket she made for Toby. He is still in the Vet Hospital!

I really enjoyed making the hearts.  I thought of it as my playtime...  Minutes for me!  We all need to take time to play!  The First Thursday's Thoughts Post was about minutes for me. (It also includes some old photos of me).
My hearts are ready to be mailed.
They were made with love and will be sent with love...

Remember to share your heart with someone today...

Marcia

Very pretty hearts to play with for some ME time. And nice of you to mention Tonya's tutorial - I think it is a super tut for beginners.

Love the hearts. I have never done paper piecing, something I plan on doing someday, if someday ever gets here.
