Another Quilt for My "Grand Baby to Be"!

Choosing the thread colors for the thread painting.

Instead of stitching straight lines, I stitch wiggle lines for the details and the outlining of each applique. Gives them all a nice texture.

I stitched/thread painted on each applique piece.

You can see the stitching on the backside where I stitched/thread painted.

It's a wall hanging for the baby's room, so I made a sleeve for hanging it.

I pieced the binding with three blue fabrics. That way I am using up the scraps!

I stitched on the binding with an embroidery stitch.

This is the backside, so you can't read it. I stitched across the bottom "Made with Love by Grandma Marcia 2013" with a lavender thread.

I rolled it up, so it is ready to pack in my bag when we go to see the new baby.  I have sent the other three quilts already.

These are the other two quilts I sent for the "Baby to Be". They both have the blue minkee backing fabric.

Click Here for the post about the one on the bottom. I will share about the top one sometime soon.

I ordered the applique blocks pre made from Marsye's Quilt Blocks.  They are already ironed on to the blocks.

I requested an assortment of different cream backgrounds and light/soft colors to go with my vintage look fabrics.  I love them!

A Pillowcase Made with Money Fabric

I am not sharing the pattern for making pillowcases, as there are a million out there!  Just Google it.

I stitched french seams.  I love pillowcases with no raw edges on the seams.

It really makes it look nice and neat on the inside.

I did not stitch the line straight for the top stitching on the hem, so I stitched it again and again and again.  Just wiggle lined the top stitching.  Makes for an interesting edge!

I made it for my nephew as part of his graduation gift.

It's folded up and ready to go!

Enjoy your day!

Such a fabulous and versatile pattern!!! I love making both traditional and modern quilts. I love collecting Kansas Troubles fabric from Moda for my traditional quilts and there is so much modern fabric out there now - I love the lime/chartreuse green and grey combo! Thanks for the wonderful giveaway Marcia!
